As we climb the mountain, the temperature and landscape will gradually shift. Along the way, we’ll pass coffee plantations, as well as farms with ferns, flowers, and strawberries, offering a vibrant display of colors and views.

We’ll start our adventure with a delightful breakfast at the Doka Coffee Estate. Following that, we’ll take a guided coffee tour through a working plantation, where we’ll discover the traditional techniques used by experts to produce some of the finest coffee in Costa Rica and around the globe. The intricate process of growing, harvesting, and roasting the Golden Bean will be demonstrated in a hands-on manner, culminating in a tasting of the delicious result.

Next, we’ll head to Poás Volcano National Park, where the temperature changes again, and we’ll be surrounded by the lush vegetation of the cloud forest.

The Poás Volcano, an active stratovolcano standing at 2,708 meters (8,885 feet), boasts a crater over a mile wide and 1,050 feet deep. It has erupted 40 times since 1828, including as recently as April 2017.

At the volcano, we’ll have the opportunity to admire the impressive main crater with its sulfuric fumaroles, and take a scenic hike to the serene Botos Lagoon while learning about the park's diverse ecosystems.

After visiting the Poás Volcano, we’ll continue our journey to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, where we’ll stroll through its beautiful rainforest, observe hummingbirds, butterflies, and monkeys, and finish with a delicious lunch.
