Arenal + Sarchi + Hot springs

Duration: 13 hours

Location: Sarchí – La Forturna – Arenal Volcano

Estimated Departure from San José: Between 07:00 A.M. – 08:00 A.M.

On the way to Arenal Volcano, we will make a stop in the charming town of Sarchí, known as the birthplace of Costa Rica’s artisans. In Sarchí, you’ll have the chance to see the world’s largest ox cart, made from cedar wood and beautifully painted in vibrant colors like bright orange. This intricate, traditional design makes it a standout example of Costa Rican craftsmanship. The cart is two stories high and took 70 days to complete, earning it a place in the Guinness World Records.

Our journey continues through a variety of plantations, including pineapple fields, mango orchards, ornamental plant farms, and cattle ranches, until we reach the small town of La Fortuna. Here, we’ll stop for lunch at a cozy restaurant offering breathtaking views of the Arenal Volcano.

This tour provides a unique opportunity to experience the majestic Arenal Volcano and its therapeutic hot springs, surrounded by lush vegetation and unforgettable vistas.

Arenal, a striking natural marvel located in La Fortuna (San Carlos), was once thought to be dormant until it erupted dramatically in 1968. Now, it attracts visitors from all over the world, eager to witness volcanic activity, such as the white smoke plumes rising from its conical peak.

Next, you’ll have time to unwind at one of the finest hot springs in the area, where you can soak in the rejuvenating thermal waters. For an extra treat, you may opt for a relaxing massage or other special spa treatments, which should be reserved in advance to ensure availability. Spa treatments are not included and are payable directly at the resort.

We’ll return to San José around 7 pm, dropping you off at your hotel or, if you prefer to stay in the Arenal area, we can leave you in La Fortuna. Please inquire for more details about this option.
